About The Finding
The Finding was birthed with one purpose: to awaken a sole hunger of the Church for an encounter with Jesus.
In Luke 11, the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. Jesus gave them what we now call “The Lord’s Prayer.” Immediately afterward, Jesus told them two parables, highlighting one thing: God’s deep desire to clothe us with the Holy Spirit. Jesus finished by saying, “Which of you fathers if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead… how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” (verses 12-13).
Acts 2 describes a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit in the Upper Room. That room was filled with 120 hungry hearts, each with the same desire: to be with the One that changed everything. An outpouring of the Spirit didn’t occur because God thought it was a good day for revival; the Spirit flooded that room because there were 120 hungry souls who longed after one thing: Jesus.
Bringing the Body back to a deep seeking of God for a baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire is the very thing that The Finding is based upon. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us, and without Him, we will never realize the closeness or reality of Jesus. For that reason, we believe revival is not a random, sovereign move of God. Rather, revival is God’s sovereign response to hunger.
With that, we lead every gathering with two questions:
”How do we get Jesus in the room?”
”How do we get Him to stay?”
